Default HID turns on, flickers, then goes off.

Lighting gurus,

I have a HID kit from xenon depot i got 2-3 months ago. The passenger side turns on, flickers, then goes off. I changed the bulb and the same thing happens.

I figure it is the ballast but if the ballast is busted, shouldn't it not even power up? Could it be the wires?

Thanks!

You need to make sure you installed the bulb correctly. Make sure the connections are "TIGHT" and secure. If you still have the same problem, talk to your vendor about it.

do you have a wire harness? in most cases the reason why it flicker is not enough power is going through. moreover, usually when it flickers it means the bulb is dead but when u mention that you change the bulb and it did the same thing, try switch the ballast to the driver side, if not try the drive side bulbs to the passenger side bulbs. basically do a trial and error test. test both sides and compare them with each other.

driver side ballast, with passenger side bulbs,

driver side bulb with passsenger side ballast

passenger side ballast switch over to driver side ballast with same bulbs.

etc.
