Hello light gurus I have question that needs a good specific answer to please as I am not DIY or HID/Xenon intelligent at all.....
I have a 98 LS 400 without factory HID/Xenon. I want the factory HID. If I buy a "complete" light from ebay that comes with everything, ballast, bulb, computer ( I think) what else do I need to make this happen?
I understand there is auto-leveling, is that within the light compartment that I will buy or is it a separate part?
Will I need to purchase different wiring than what is already in place?
If I missed anything please fill in where appropriate. I asked this question in the LS 400 forum and was told it would take between 2-3000 dollars.....Does that sound about right?
You would be better off paying for someone to retrofit LS430 projectors. A lot more cost effective, would look a lot nicer and you'd get better visibility.
You have auto leveling if when at night you turn your lights on and they immediately point down, then swivel back upwards.
*I believe that on OE HID headlights come equipped.
If yours don't, then you don't have auto level, and its not worth attempting to get auto level as there is too much wiring, and just more headache than what its worth.
Go with a LS430 retrofit, it's been done before on your generation LS, and it looks great!
you really dont need the auto leveling
as long as your head lights are leave right now,
if u really want a stock look go buy a real hid kit its plug and play philips
and ull be more then happy
dont get nothing but philips !
philips hid = stock lexus
