Default Hid ?

Im looking to get some more light output. I currently have 35w ballasts with 8k bulbs. Should I just get some 5k or 6k bulbs ($60). Or get a pair of 55w ballasts ($100) and keep the 8Ks ( I really like the bluish look).
Does anyone have a set 55w ballasts on their car?

You won't be happy with 5000k. 6000k is great. The color of 5000k is not "super white" enough for me. 6000k is super white with a hint of blue and purple reflection.

I would make sure you do more research on 55w ballasts and the bulbs you should use.

From what Ive read, with 55w ballasts I can use the 35w bulbs I have right now with "shortened bulb life."

dont quote me but i think that if u go with 55 watt ballasts the color will be kinda washed out.

like 8k will be more like 6k maybe 5k but remember u also jumping up mor the half the lumens. its gonna be crazy bright lol like the sun

Is your aftermarket kit powered through the stock wiring harness or directly from the battery? Keep in mind the shape and housing of the SC headlights was never actually built to have HIDs, so be considerate of other drivers and get something easier on the eyes for them.

My kit is powered from the battery. Everything connected to the bulbs is aftermarket: bulbs, ballasts, wiring harness, etc
