Okay, last night as I was drive, my driver side HID changed its color to purple, at first, I thought it's kind of cool, however, I think my HID is about to burn out, I thought they suppose to last forever. Anyway, has anyone had some thing happen to them?
be aware nothing last forever.
how many hours does your bulbs have? with time, your hid bulbs will be less bright and will eventually burn out. they are inexpensive to replace and you should buy them in pairs so they match. check out ebay or put a wtb ad.
Corky , Inexpensive HiD bulbs are like 200 a pair .
Ebay has brand new philips D2R bulbs for about $80.00 a pair. If you're talking about retrofitted D2R or D2S bulbs, I don't know the pricing. Regardless, very inexpensive for bulbs.
If it turned purple that means its burning at a higher kelvin, check the light output at night compare the 2, I'm sure the one that turned purple is putting out alot less light. Like corky said they are really inexpansive if you replace with oem bulbs, at most they will cost about as much as a pair of halogen silverstar light bulbs.

Thanks for all the replies. Yes, the purple one is lot more dimmer than the other one. I am going to purchase a pair on ebay, I don't know which one I should go for, 45K, 5K or 8K, what do you guys think?

I doubt it would be 45k.
The OEM ones are in the 4100K - 4300K range. 5000K and 6000K would give you a little bit less light but better blueish color.
I would not go any higher as you start to lose much more light and the color is purplish, unless this is what you want to do.
if you just want the stock replacement, get the philips 4300k hid from ebay, very cheap, like 100 bucks a pair. it only starts to get expensive when you get the 6000k

Yup the Corkster's right! If you shop right, you can grab a set on Ebay for 60-70 shipped. Remember D2S is for projectors while D2R is for your reflectors.Buy 4300K Philps or Osram only because they're OEM. Anything else is pushing it and definately won't last as long. On avg,, they should last about 5 years depending on how much night driving you do
