Default Q45 time

Just finished redoing a retro I did a few months ago, painted the bezel glossy high temp black and cleaned up a few things.

Projectors are aimed dead flat on rotational axis and the factory adjustment screws are fully functional. The front lens looks a bit dirty cause I took pictures right after finishing the retro, it will be polished before the install.

Very nice as always. You do very clean work.

I see that you are using aftermarket ballasts. Where do you place those on the GS? They don't just bolt in the factory location do they?

^^ As you can see that these are halogen headlights and even though the mounting spots are still there for the OEM LExus denso ballast but it is for the old generation denso and not the new one. The ballast shown in the picture is a 2nd gen denso from an 06 LS430, i tried to mount them underneath the headlight but opted not to, cause they are not very weather resistant and also due to lack of mounting options.

I will post more pictures in a few days after I install Hella Gen 3 ballasts underneath the headlight. As many of you might know that the Hella Gen 3s provide great resistance against the elements. Although they are not waterproof but they certainly can hold their ground against moisture and dirt, same can not be said about the densos.

Here is a picture of what will be powering the projectors

PLEASE post pictures when you get them mounted. I have decided that I am going to redo my LS430 retro, and I figured while I am at it I would upgrade to the Hella Gen 3 ballasts.

^^ Will do . I might be doing another Q45 retro soon for myself since I already have another set of Q45 projectors with me . These headlights are pure bling. Although I love my LS430 retro and the performance of LS430 projectors but I wouldnt mind rocking the Q45 retro for a few months till I get tired of it and go back to my LS430s. If we were to measure looks then the Q45s against the LS430s then the Qs win by a land slide. Who ever saw me building the headlight looked at the projector and had the priceless "WTFOMG" look on their face lol.
