Cheap SCxxx HIDs? Ebayers?
Yeah what I meant by that was the actual numerical figure in lumens, but I don't think he understood the question in that way; he probably interpreted it as more of a 'what color bulb produces the most light' sort of question.
As for the ridiculous lumens ratings, yeah.. I've heard of 50W kits with crazy brightness like 4500 and close to 5000. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's about twice the brightness of most high beams, which is just ridiculous. I think anything over 3700 lumens, even with a nice cutoff line is too bright. For me, personally, anything below 2400 lumens is just too dim for an aftermarket kit, especially for what's out there.
Did some research on their 6K bulbs (I found their supplier), which yield approx. 2800 lumens, which I'd say is decent.

According to Philips:
Philips 4300k D2S bulb - 3200 lumens
Philips 6000k D2S bulb - 2400 lumens
Thats my point exactly... I highly doubt that a bulb made in china that is rated at 6000k is going to have a higher lumens rating than a Philips 6000k capsule...

A bit off topic here for a minute, but..
I was looking at the cutoff of my stock headlights yesterday from about 30-35 feet out, and I thought it looked somewhat decent, though it wasn't as good as the retrofits with other projector glass like I've seen other people post up. I don't personally think it would produce an annoying amount of glare if I didn't use other glass.
Does anyone have photos of just an HID kit plugged in with the stock SCx00 glass?
From what I understand, retrofits involve changing the projector in the headlight housing and having to make custom brackets to mount the projector. And that's just something I don't have time/money for. If anyone thinks the stock projector glass produces an absurd amount of glare, are there cheaper options than switching out projectors?
