Right now i have what i need for the retro, i just need the do's and don'ts of this project.

Thanks guys!

Do's

Keep TSX stock.
Take your time and dont rush.
Ask as many questions as you can if there is any ambiguity.
Use Phillips 85122+ bulbs.
Use OEM ballasts such as Hellas, Densos, Matsu****as.
Plan your retrofit rather than jumping right into it.
Get a good harness.
More info at www.hidplanet.com/forums
Use a good quality harness to hook up the HID ballasts.

Donts
DO NOT COLORMOD the TSX projectors.
Dont be intimidated by the project.

Those are the few things I can think of for now .

Two washer color mods? Why not? What are the disadvantages?

I have 2 washers on my TSX right now and I like them.

Undo the color mod, as good as it may look on close shots the washer mod actually diminishes output towards the foreground and sides. There is plenty of color at the cut off in stock form. This topic has been debated many times at HIDp and the conclusion from experience with both modded and non modded projectors was that stock is best for performance.

As others said you will need D2S bulbs, dont buy used ones. Look for new Phillips 85122+ bulbs on ebay, I think the last time I checked a set was for around 90 dollars, which is well worth the money. Whatever you do, do not go with higher kelvin aftermarket bulbs. 85122+ are rated at 3400 lumens where as a typical 6000k aftermarket bulb is around 2500k lumens. Just to put it in perspective, halogen bulbs are rated 1100~1300 lumens.

If the ballasts are Mercedes OEM then they are probably made by either Hella or Bosch, both are good but I like the prior.

Post pictures of your set up and as stated earlier take the washers for the color mod out to go back to stock.

Also post pictures of the wiring harness. A good harness can set you back $40~60 depending on who you buy it from or if you make it yourself.

+1 on the color mod. I dont know what the fascination is with them but I learned to leave my projectors stock. I rather have the output I need, than to have a color band that I'll only see if I drive up to a wall of some sort.

Output > colors

Same goes with sharp cutoffs. My eyes hate those super sharp cutoffs!

Pictures are uploading as i type...but

There are D2R bulbs in the projectors right now is that okay? Or do i have to change that out?

The bulb says..

OSRAM XENARC
D2R 35W 66050
GERMANY

And the ballast says..

2.00kh/dot
D2S/D2R/DIS/DIR
35W max
1200v DC/85v AC
Made in France

Can somebody post a pic with a retrofit with the color mod and without the color mod?

Again i tried to apply for an account with HID Planet but they still havent created my account

here are the pics.

Those are Bosch AL ballasts as I suspected . Who ever put the D2R bulbs in the projectors altered them to fit in the opening cause the projectors are suppose to take D2S bulbs. As stated earlier, dont settle for color shifted old bulbs buy yourself a fresh set of Phillips 85122+ D2S bulbs.

BTW you shouldnt be having any problem with setting up an account at HIDp. The only thing I can think of is your IP being in a range of IPs that might have been banned at the site. PM me your email and I'll look into it.

Yeah the guy i bought them from was planning on putting them in his integra, So is that everything that i need to do the retrofit? Besides the bulbs. Also do you need to modify the projector bracket in any way for it to fit in the SC housing?

Well altering the bracket and making the projector fit is the main reason its called retrofit . You will need to figure out as to what method to go with when mounting the projectors. Some people have used plexy glass templates, some have used aluminum ones, your approach can be either one of them or something completely different.

You will need

Headlights
D2S Phillips 85122+ bulbs
Harness
Ballasts
Misc. nuts and bolts.
Depending on how you seal the headlights you might need some RTV silicone.
Projectors.

The harness looks good actually, so you are all set there but bulbs need to be replaced. You can see how someone filed in a notch in the bulbs to make them fit the projectors where as they are not suppose to fit the D2S opening.

Also know that Phillips 85122 bulbs are different than 85122+ bulbs. 85122+ are brighter, not to be confused with being bluer/whiter.
