Are you sure the bulb connector is turned the right way? the D2R and D2S lock in the same way.

Unless his headlights were swapped out, all GS430's came with HID from factory. It should work, even a D2S bulb should work. Make sure it has the two prongs sticking out on opposite sides.

correct, HID is standard on all gs430

if it's d2r, it should fit

d2s, it will not fit. not unless you use dremel to create a **** on the opposite side. the **** location helps determine if it's d2s or d2r (officially. some aftermarket companies they just have the ***** on both sides)

BTW;

The Philip's bulb you want to buy would be the 85126+.

The actual harness (connector) locks in the same way whether its d2s or d2r. What wont fit is the base to the housing. But nothing a little dremeling work can't fix

I've put both D2S and D2R bulbs in my projectors with no problems or modifications.

I don't know if it's different on HID reflector bowls as I have never had them.

I also have a blown headlight on a 99 GS400 and I need a 4300k HID bulb. I dont want to pay $300 buying it from the dealer so I want to go with a Phillips bulb from XenonDepot.com but I want to replace it before the weekend. Is there any autoparts store I can buy one or is ordering them online the best option?
