Default HID had a problem today, what was wrong with it?

Today when I got out of the car, my right side bulb was a different color. It looked like a halogen bulb. But I turned them off and turned them back on a few minutes later and it was fine. and it was fine driving home, what could that be? It's a philips 6000k kit

^^Might be the bulb like he said. But if it was going bad it would turn pinkish. Just be on the look out for a few days.

if you bought them from xenondepot, i think they offer a 1 year warranty. good luck.

well, if you replace the bulb, spend the extra cash and replace both - otherwise one will be a diff temp or have a diff warm up period than the other - it may drive you bonkers.

i know it would me.

i think i might have found the problem. i switched the bulbs and the same side was acting up. so it has to be the ballast. i took it out and found some water sitting on it. i blew it out with air and what not for a while and it was fixed most of today. but acted up again one time tonight. i might have to get another philips ballast

was the water stuck in the plastic housing? if so, sounds like a problematic issue since it affected someone else here earlier this month.

if i were still running my xenondepot kit, i would take my plastic casings off my philips ballasts. i think by doing this, if water were to ever splash onto it, the water would just run off instead of getting trapped in the housing and sitting stagnant.

there are tabs on the sides that you need to use a flat head screwdriver to bend and release the plastic casing.

I'll try to take photos tonight of my plastic housing. I took out my philips kit a long time ago but just recently removed the housing to compare the ballast inside.
