Default NEW Silverstars ULTRA

There was a commericial not too long ago about the new Silverstars Ultra. I'm a big fan of silverstars and IMO truely believe they are way brighter than OEM or any aftermarket headlights and far more long lasting than Xenons.

Does anyone have any pictures comparing OEM/Silverstars/Ultras???

doubtful on the life of the silverstars vs a true HID xenon gas bulb. the silverstars are still filament based and filaments break. the HID xenon gas bulb will last MUCH longer.

I like the Silverstar line as well. Better than HID's?? Nah, but they are cheaper.

I dont have the Ultras yet, just waiting for my regular Silverstars to burn out.

I don't know.

Both my Silverstars burned out within a year. My left headlight blew out last month and my right blew out yesterday. Got them replaced under warranty but if they blow again next year, I'm switching to something else. Any suggestions short of HID conversion lol.

isnt possible that they last longer or are better than HID xenons (unless you get 10000k and a cheap **** kit),

but they are a nice upgrade from most your stock halogen bulbs, osrams (silverstars) are pretty good too, thats what I had in my last car, and I loved them (this was before xenons came along)

I bought a pair of SS ultra's to replace the original SS on my Yukon.
IMO I really did not see any differences between the two.
I don't think the price of the ultras are worth the additional 25% in cost
for a 20% (that they claim) in brightness over the originals!

The Silverstars are well worth the money over stock bulbs. If anyone out there is comparing Silverstars vs. HIDs, YOU'RE NUTS!!

The stock Silverstars had a well known issue with premature burnout even if properly installed. The Ultras are a tad brighter but more robust. I installed them in an Acura not too long ago. Owner was/is very pleased with the difference over OEM and so far they are still hanging in there. Not even close to his RX330 HID's though.

I never ment to say that SS are better than HID, perhaps i may not be using proper terminology, but i believe you can buy halogen, Xenon, or HID, correct me if i'm wrong

I'm eager to try the ultras tho, hopefully they are worth the $$

halogens and HID are two different technologies. Xenon is gas. They can be in both halogen bulbs and HID bulbs. More so in HID because it works better.

Any suggestions for "high performance" halogen bulbs other than Silverstars? 10 months is a really short life time.

do they have silver stars for the fog lights. If not, does anyone know of a set of lights that are balanced. I would like to keep the headlights and fog lights the same if I can
