Default ES350 HID Help

Hey guys,

I have the 07 ES350 and I only got the premium package which does not include HID. I am thinking of adding the xenondepot HID kit but I'm wondering about the projector/housing of the light bulbs. How many of you are saying if you don't have HID housing, you wont get a clean cut off point of the light and it will start glaring all over the place.

My question is:

1. is it worth the upgrade to HID if I just buy the plug & play kit from xenondepot?

2. Will my light glare all over the place?

3. Is the 6000k worth the extra money for just color with less brightness?

Any comments and recommendation is highly appreciated, and if you find yourself lazy or short on time, you gotta answer all 3 questions, just comment on whatever you can, every little bit helps.

We have had many ES customers install our products in the factory housing and the results have been great. Our HID kits come with laser aligned bulbs to ensure optically correct beam patterns and that your OEM beam pattern literally will be replicated. 6000k vs 4300k kits are the same price. You get slightly more color with a 6000k kit over a 4300k HID kit however you lose about 20% of useable light output.

Hi Steve, I installed a HID kit to my factory halogen housing, but the lights project much lower/shorter than halogen. And sometimes when I start the car I need to turn off and turn on the light twice for the HID to stay on.

Will your HID kit work without the problems above? I am thinking about buying your kit. This is for 07 ES350

Thanks!

Hi,

Do you have one of our HID kits installed? What color temperature do you have installed?

No the kit (8000k) I have now is from another company. However I am planning to purchase your kit if it doesn't have the same problems.

Thanks

you can try purchasing a relay harness from one of the vendors and see if that fixes the lights not turning on issue

Halogens have different style squirrel spotters than HID equipped cars. Depending on how bad those show after HID conversion, it might be a good bet to cover those up. You might lose the ability to see some street signs from a distance but you wont be glaring into cars when driving straight. Squirrel spotters are cut outs in the housing that enable light to be fired up to light up street signs fyi

rikkus256,

Not having a lot of light output is most likely a result of the fact that you have an 8000k HID kit. When it comes to HID color temperature, the higher you go in terms of Kelvin (K), the less actual useable light output you are going to emit. IE: A 4300k HID kit will offer you more useable light output than a 8000k HID kit. What determines the brightness of a bulb is the Lumens rating (not Kelvin).

As for the ballasts not starting up, that could be a result of the ballasts that you are using. Some ballasts have a very high starting amperage draw unlike the ballasts that we use in our HID kits which have a low amperage starting draw.

A relay harness may fix that issue for you though.

Hi Steve,

I was referring to the headlight aim being too low after install the HID, not the light output.

Thanks

Headlight aim could either be one of 3 things:

1) Headlights are not aligned properly.
2) The bulbs themselves are not rebased properly meaning that your beam pattern will be compromised.
3) The bulb is not seated properly in the housing.
