Default HID Kit and Only 1 Bulb Turns On

Installing 9006 HID Kit in 93 SC400. I know the kit is good, and only passenger side turns on. I tried everything from fuses to throwing it against a wall. Do I need the additional relay I've heard mentioned before? I've installed this same brand kit on multiple cars before with no issues.

Did you try switching the ballasts, and then switching the bulbs? What were the results?

the polarity of the wires on teh driver side is flipped. you need to someone flip the polarity on the power conenctors, that should work i suppose. just a guess from the information i have of course

yes...check the polarity connection between the ballast to the bulb....then check your fuse. Some kits had the ground and power wires switched around....so when you turned on the headlights....the fuse would blow.

polarity on the HID kit reversed? I don't see how this is possible since both ballast and bulbs work on the passenger side and not the drivers. do you mean to say the polarity on the stock headlight harness might be reversed? since halogen doesnt need polarity.

correct. that's what happened in my case.

just to confirm. your hid kits, do you connect directly to the battery, or you go through stock wiring harness on both sides of the car? if i were to guess, i would guess the 2nd case.

i have a similar problem in my 92' 300..I got the kit, plugged it in and only one side works.. I changed ballasts around, tried to put both ballasts to the bulb that worked and it turned on.. I finally came to the conclusion that one bulb is bad.. ebay guy was nice and sent a replacement.. same thing happens.. the working bulb works with both the ballasts in both the holes.. But the other 2 do not fire.. I dont know what to do.. He sent me yet another replacement.. I still have all 3 bulbs and he does not want them back!.. so do you think i am having the same problem?

I have the same problem on my 2001 GS. I'm using the stock wiring and I think that might be it. The voltage spike (or whatever you call it) that is used to light the bulbs initially can only travel a short distance so that explains why the passenger lights up (it's closer to the battery) and the driver side lights up sometimes (in my case). I think a wiring harness connected directly to the battery will solve the problem.

Yeah guess what guys.. The 9006 bulb wire has to be flipped in order for the right polarity.. It plugs right in the other way, and no splicing is necassary.. I did this to my car and it worked (sc300) and to my moms rx300.. Needs to be flipped.. Easy fix... Now I have 2 extra xenon bulbs because i thought they were bad and kept having the ebay guy ship them to me.. No problem now!

congrats on solving ONE case

for my case, it didn't plug the other way, but i was able to pull on the wires and flip them. most plugs, you should be able to flip the wires without splicing

Hi I am having the same issues. I didn't install the KIT myself so i'm a noob so imma ask a
noobie question. When you say flip the 9006 wires, do you mean flip the fog light wiring?
I thought the the low beam's bulb was H11? and also if anyone can guide me on "flipping"
the wires so that I can do it myself, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
