Default daytime running lights

for daytime running lights, i tried replacing them and they still appear to have that OEM yellow-brownish tint, but slightly whiter.. but when i put my hi-beams on, they appear to have a blu-ish tint to them..i was wonderin' if there was a way to make the daytime runnin' lights seem to have that blu-ish almost h.i.d. look? or am i stuck with this nasty oem color?

I swapped mine out with Silverstar 9005's and I have the same problem. I think that its only because the light doesnt perform its best visually until the full amount of juice is given to it. Which really sucks.

it doesnt matter which bulb you use, it'll always appear yellow in the daytime because of the low power output.

Thats actually a good idea. How do you do it so that you can still use your brights?

answer is no way you can't do it. it's running at lowered wattage, so unless you put 100w bulb in it (so it runs at 50w during the day), it's going to be yellow. but with 100w bulbs, good luck when you flight the highs

hopefully my insurance company doesnt see this, but here goes. On the LX470 they had a recall on the high beams being too bright and the blind people. You may have noticed that recently people with LX470s during the day their DRLs were dimmer. Lexus created a kit to retrofit onto the DRL relay which consisted of two connectors and a resistor assembly. I took the harness, cut off the connector for the resistor and left that one wire cut and boom my high beams still work but DRLs dont come on.

A tech at the dealership told me another way to do this to avoid my only problem with doing what i did...my Blue HIGHBEAM light is on now all the time except when i have my low beams on. That fact doesnt bother me because i know my truck just looks that much better without the yellow DRLs on.

Im not sure if the LX470 resistor kit would work in any of the other lexi but...it might?
