Default HID driver side wont work!

Hey everyone,

I justg recieved my q45 headlights yesterday with the halos yesterday. After installing my new headlights I ran into some problems. When you turn on the the hid, the driver side hid would flicker and then turns off...somtime it turns on for a little bit and turns off again. the car is not in motion or shaked when this occurs. do you guys have any idea how to fix this problem?

also i installed my halos into the daytime running lights, doesnt seem to be working either, any suggestions on how to fix these problems would be great

Mike

Do you have a relay harness or are you running the lights off your factory switch?

um i had to cut off the my headlight outlet and solder it directly to the ballast, because the outlet would not fit. However, the soldering was done by a pro so im thinking it not the soldering that causing this problem. can you think of a reaso why the hid would turn off?

Cool

What you need is a relay harness that way you can run your lights from the battery instead of off your factory switch. What you dont realize is that when you turn on your lights it takes about 23,000 volts to start them and then once they are fully powered they run at just 35watts .That is why one cuts on and the other is lazy, with the harness installed you wont have those problems because the juice needed is coming from the battery instead of the switch , non-hid vehicles just dont have a beefier harness like cars equiped with hid.You can buy one from xenon depot or make one yourself. If you make your own it is cheaper and you can get most of your parts from a local sound shop 1)2 bosch spdt relays, 2) 10feet of 12 gauge wire , 3)30 amp fuse and a in line fuse holder 4) some remote turn on wire in various colors 5)battery terminal and spade connectors . that might total up to about 25 bucks in parts. You can log on to www.the12volt.com and search for how to hook up relays

if possible, use dual relay (one for each side)

I had the old Xenon Depot Single relay harness before. Sometimes when hid is on, i can see one side flicker while cranking the car. With the new Dual Relay harness installed. I have yet to see it flicker.
