Default Retrofited and not lighting up help!

I picked up my retro and its from a 2002 gs and tried to install it (at night in the rain) lol got too excited but any way they wouldnt come on!?!?! One was flickering and one wasnt on. Also the highbeams were on but they werent on high? More like how the low beams look or even daytime running lights. I disconnected it and tested them to see if they still work and they do.
I cut off the connector and connected the positive and negative wires Red + white - correct?
I will try it again today and actually cover the wires with tape im hoping they were grounded out.
Last thing, now with them disconnected i dont have any lights, just the city lights, highbeams wont come on. Did i blow a fuse?

Wait..what did you do again??? Did you cut your factory wires? To me it sounds like you need a wire harness for your HIDs. Don't cut anything or touch your car until you read this and after we diagnose your problem. You may mess it up further

Good work! Now post pics of it against a white wall where your car is 25 feet away so we can see that cuttoff beam pattern you got going there.

And don't forget to use wire crimps for those loose connections you made there so it doesn't come apart leaving you in the dark when that electric tape meets its match called mother nature
