Default Auxilliary Driving Lights - help please

I will be doing a lot of night driving (yes - on country roads with no street lights, but plenty of 6 ft 7 inch 200 pound red kangaroos), and want to instal additional driving lights. I want them to come on when high beam is selected.

The GS300 uses the negative circuit to activate the high beam. This is important, as the standard wiring of driving lights will not work.

Can anyone help please with a suitable wiring diagram. The high beam bulb has two wires going to it, RED/WHITE stripe and BLACK. I am not sure which wire to tap into as Lexus use the negative circuit to activate the high beam.

Here is a pic with the additional lights mounted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers ... David

LOL...seriously that's awesome and dumb at the same time. No offense, or anything. It looks like a freakin' rally car haha. I still think it's pretty awesome

Anyways, to answer your question. Just tap into the high beams positive wire, like at the actual location before the wire goes into the bulb. Then use that tapped wire to trigger a relay to power your rally lights

Not sure about the look... I would have put a 55w HID kit in the high beams, should be plenty of light.

he said he needs it for night driving, not work...plus what kind of work are you gonna be doing in a GS that you need rally lights? its not like he's driving through the bush in his gs

i know its your car but this looks terrible OP,either adding a HID kit or a proper setup retro would have provided above adequate lighting and not looked as bad as these rally lights. if your doing alot of night driving and cant see, go to the optometrist man....

Silverstar Ultra high beams instead? That looks way too funky for my tastes. Love the color of your car though.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I can take these off in 5 minutes - all quick connect. It's the odd wiring that I need help with. Any auto electricians out there??

And before I forget - HAPPY NEW YEAR to all Lexus owners and friends.

i think the problem you will have with taping to the high beams as trigger for your Rally Fogs is the DRL issue, it will run 100% when the relay is triggered in DRL mode.

I would avoid the OEM set up ur seeking and just go with an ADD ON switch.

Thanks. Where is the most accessible spot under the bonnet to tap into the 12 volt electrical power once the engine has started? That way I don't leave the lights on accidently.

I may even put a remotely controlled switch inside the car rather than running wires through the firewall.

Pics appreciated please.

I think it looks COOL, I personally would have tried to mount some lights behind the grill, but I DO like the rally look!

Hmmmmmm. I live up north where its dark for 3 months, so I appreciate the need for better lights. I am thinking about those clear lens fogs and converting to projectors. If anyone can recommend a good, small projector with a long narrow beam can you advise?
