I'm trying to remove the ballast from the OEM Housing and took off the 3 nuts that hold the ballast in place. The problem is the BIG connector (connects to the back of the D2R bulb) is tooo big to slide out..
- Do I have to take this connector apart so I can replace the Ballast with another OEM Koito one?
- Is there a way to slide this connector out without taking it apart?
- Any tricks?
There are two long screws that are used to adjust your headlight alignment. By turning those, you will be able to move the reflector enough to get the ballast connector out.
Make sure you count the rotations that you did to each screw so that you can align the reflector back to the original position. If you don't the headlight will be pointed wrong.
I would do about 25 revolutions to each screw as a start. You can mark the screw with a permanent marker so you can count the revolutions easily.
Good Luck
PS- Are you looking to buy a replacement ballast? I have a spare one that I might be willing to sell.
