Default Headlight ballast replacement the easy way! DIY

I narrowed down ballast issue on my IS250. On YouTube, the only videos shown are ones where you have to heat off the lense to access the ballast and connector from the back side. I did not want to do this. In the past, I’ve cut and soldered the plug in the past.

I FOUND AN EASIER WAY!!!! from instructions from an amazon vendor.

Remove headlight from the front end as normal. Remove the ballast from the headlight. This includes removing the plastic bumper on the front, metal bracket over the ballast. Remove the ballast with the 4 screws that hold down the ballast. Its impossible to pull the plug though the headlight, which is always the issue. Cut the old ballast wire and pull both ends out of the ballast.

On the new ballast, you will disassemble the plug and remove the wires from the plug. Pull back the metal tabs and remove the metal cover, with a small screwdriver or pick gently pry the ballast clips and carefully separate the black caps. Remove the center red wire and outer white wire using small screwdriver.

Thread the ballast wires through the headlight ballast opening to the bulb area. Pull the wires through the bulb opening and reconnect the wires into the plug.

Reassemble the headlight and test it!
