Question about fog lights. If I buy some super white bulbs will I get superwhite display or not?? Are the bulbs that come stock yellow, or is it the lense?? Also, is there any way to make the fog lights be able to run without haveing the headlights on? And one more, what is the Daytime Running Bulb?? I wanna try and get some superwhite of those to. Mine are a nasty yellow. Thanks for all the help!

damn sorry i missed this thread totally...

1) it's not the bulb, there is a yellow lens on the fogs. so you can't get superwhite unless you change the housing
2) there is an easy mod to how to do it. i didn't do it on my is3 so i don't have it. but i know .net they have it
3) DRL is the one in the high beam. it's the same bulb as the high beam but it's running at 50% power during the day. no matter what bulbs you put in there, it's going to look pretty yellow during the day (unless you do something crazy that i dont' recommend)

there is no max wattage, but the spec says the 9006 should be 51w and the high beam 9005 is about 60w? you can try to put in higher wattage, personally i wouldn't go over 80, which is pretty HOT already

I'm a little unclear because I normally think 9004, 9005, 9006, H1, H4, H7, etc when I think of bulb "size."

I currently have a 9006 kit in my car with 7500K color temp and it's a little too blue for me. Can I use the OEM bulbs from the IS?

you are using hid kits, they are not the official hid

for the oem factory hid, d2r (reflective) and d2s (projective) are the only two standard.

9006, 9005, h1, etc... they ae all halogen bulb sizes. some people rebase the d2s bulbs to those bases and stick it into the housing that's all
