for the oem factory hid, d2r (reflective) and d2s (projective) are the only two standard.
9006, 9005, h1, etc... they ae all halogen bulb sizes. some people rebase the d2s bulbs to those bases and stick it into the housing that's all

interior Bulbs
hey, i wanted to replace my interior bulbs with some new white LED bulbs... i just dont know what type of bulbs im looking for... Bulbs for the following locations..
1- front personal light which is where the moonroof button is located (1 bulb)
2- Vanity Bulbs for the 2 visors (2 bulbs)
3- Glove box light (1 Bulb i believe)
4- interior Light in center (1 bulb)
the other 2 bulbs i already know...
Courtesy light (2~ 194 wedge)
Trunk Light (1~ 194 wedge)

Someone asked earlier on the thread about using the fog lights without having the headlights on. You can do it, check the is300.net link below.

What brand does Lexus use on the IS for the stock HID lights? Philips, Sylvania, etc.?

damn sorry i missed this thread totally...
1) it's not the bulb, there is a yellow lens on the fogs. so you can't get superwhite unless you change the housing
2) there is an easy mod to how to do it. i didn't do it on my is3 so i don't have it. but i know .net they have it
3) DRL is the one in the high beam. it's the same bulb as the high beam but it's running at 50% power during the day. no matter what bulbs you put in there, it's going to look pretty yellow during the day (unless you do something crazy that i dont' recommend)

My DRL are not a yellow color. With LED's.
