What does the whole unit look like? Is this just a very close shot of it? Or is it mounted on something?

I see the SMDs but is what you bought the entire unit pictured? And the big question, how much?

Those are small SMDs. I'm so used to the 2mm ones.

Sorry. I meant the whole LED unit. I've been trying to find a thin LED light source and was just wondering if this unit is a flat piece or longer like a "normal" LED.

Gotcha.

I have not been actively looking for what I need. I just saw this and thought it was interesting since they are small enough.

Chuck, I am running PIAA 194 LED in white in the running light location. They are a very good color match to the OEM HID color (4200K approx) Biggest shortcoming is that their light dispersion is highly directional so they are not great at filling the reflector inside the housing with light.
