Default RX330 HIDs, too low?

I have been struggling to resolve the low visibility from the HIDs on my RX330. The dealer has set the adjustment screw at the highest point. But with highway driving, I only see 2 1/2 or 3 white"dashes" down the road. I drove a loaner w/o the HIDs and had no problem seeing much further. This is not the first vehicle I have had with these lights. My first was a 2001 BMW 530, so I am used to the blunt cutoff ahead. Any other thoughts or comments on why they might be misaiming too low? Anyone else w/ HIDs can you let me know how many "dashes" on the highway your lights illuminate on a level surface...
Thanks,
Mark

Well...i think you know its too low for you taste. I'd suggest you take it back to the dealer to get it fixed....or have them replace the headlight housing assembly.

Do you know how far your HIDs reach ahead?

here you go....make sure you do this first before you swap out those lamps. The dealer techs can get lazy at times....http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hl-aiming.htm

good luck

Thanks for that lead. My basic understanding of that article leads me to this conclusion. At 25' away from a wall the difference in the height between the middle of the headlight and the beam cutoff on the wall should be about 2.5". Here are my results.
Headlight lens center at 32.5"

driver side cutoff on wall maxes out at 24"
passenger side on wall maxes out at 25.5"

It seems to me that they are way out of spec.
Am I missing something here?

You also have to consider that SUVs are taller and have different adjustments.

Well, I just got done driving a loaner RX330 w/ HIDs. Its reach is almost twice as far as my lights throw. It will be interesting to see their diagnosis after driving my car at night.
