i am thinking of getting one set of Phillip HID kit for my GS300. Between the 4100K & 6000K, what are the differences? where is the best place to shop? i want real genuine Phillip bulbs and ballast. Please help, thanks

 

color difference, the 4100k is just like stock, the 6000k gives out a bit more white/bluish look. i had 6000k for headlights, very nice

you can try to email jus4bulbs@yahoo.com a lot of people got theirs from him. he sells real philips bulbs and ballasts

 

I think we should make a sticky on this topic. I feel like everyday, we have to explain the same things over and over again. Its not a bad thing, its just that, if this kind of info was up on a regular basis, things would go alot easier. What do you think?

Hey Rominl, i knew you know a lot about HID lights. Honestly, i am CONFUSE with hid light stuffs. i hope you can help me with my last question. What Phillip bulbs are BEST to use with NONE HID housing, D2r or D2s? it is for GS300, 9006 type

umm..... now i am curious, you can actually find a set of 9006 6000k philips hid kit with d2r bulbs?! so far everything i have seen is d2s. if anything i guess it's safer to get d2s, coz' you never know how the bulbs would be twisted in. if the d2r bulbs is at the wrong position you will get super weird light pattern

but then again check to see if they even have a 9006 6000k d2r kit, i doubt

Correct me if i am wrong. As i know, D2r is for reflextive housing. D2s is for projective housing. GS is using reflextive housing, right? So you said D2s bulbs will be safer on reflextive housing. is that what you mean? i am lost Rominl. Please bare with me. thanks

 

ah now i know what you are confused about. yes d2r is for reflective housing, but it's for reflective HID housing. on the gs non-hid, the housing isn't hid ready and so you don't even need to associate the word "reflective" with hid at all. no matter you put d2r or d2s bulbs in it, it won't reflect correctly. so if you wanna put hid kits on the car, it's just a better of putting a kit in, forget about the reflective/projective part.

i noticed intensepower.com have Phillip 6000K for $399. Do you think this is a fair price?

 

399 that's very good price for philips kits man, if it's both philps bulbs and ballasts

and yeah, if you have to do hid kit, i guess d2s is the best but still, i doubt if you even have the option to get d2r 9006 kit

 

Remember, the 6000k will put out less lumens than the 4100k. Higher colour temprature equals less light output, assuming the wattage is the same.

 

theoretically yes, but practically i have used 6000k in 3 of my cars so i don't see any dramatic changes at all @_@ on the othe rhand i have seen 7500k and 8000k and those are aweful
