Just to put a twist on it....adding an HID kit is the easiest but not the best way to add true HID in terms of functionality and safety for both you and other drivers around. Just tossing in a kit doesn't solve the problems of not having an adequate built from the ground up HID system. The Halogen projector was NOT designed for HID application. What you will find is that compared to a GS with OEM HID installed, your system won't be equal. In fact, when compared to HID projectors like the 5 series or Mercedes E55 Bi-xenon, your new HID KIT will be dwarfed in terms of sharpness of cuttoff as well as beam spread. Most likely, the HID will produce more glare when compared to OEM GS setup or projector HID. Your best bets are to either go with OEM HID GS headlights and replace yours or do a retrofit. Now there are three professional companies that can perform that for you. Seek www.hidforum.com for leads. The final thing I would like to add is, most people that do HID kits eventually figure out that their system isn't the same as the cars that come out with HID from the factory. So they eventually retrofit HID projectors or reflectors into their rides. Just another perspective from someone who's done it. Not a flame...just an idea

I gave an idea...now here's an example! (With pics!)

http://hidforum.com/forum/showthread...&threadid=4789
(the original link....courtesey of yellowfellow)

Car:
Acura RSX an all reflector Halogen 2002 Model

1st pic= one side done using Hella E55 Mercedes Bi-Xenon (low and high beam intergrated projectors)

2nd pic= the rear of one side of the projector once the new generation 4 Hella ballasts and ignitors are hooked up properly

3rd pic= both projectors finished

4th pic= projector lit up close (notice how the glare is eliminated due to proper HID equipment management

Final Pic = the color band of the cuttoff (what it will look like to other cars driving in front of his in their rearview mirrors as well as oncoming traffic)

He hasn't posted wall cuttoff shots yet, but this was an example of how a proper HID retrofit could be like in your vehicle. See_Fuu did a job on a GS a year ago with similar HID equipment and boy did that car come out nice! To purchase the HID kit should run you about 4-500 bucks. To grab OEM equipment shouldn't run u more than 400.00 for what you just saw including harnesses. To do it yourself=priceless. Otherwise another 200-300 depending on where you go for professional job.

Default Yeah!!

Hey tiguy99, I also think that the true HID are made of Projector headlamp + HID!!
Those are really good on RSX! Love it. It's also a good thing that my GX is originally come Projector headlamp!! For me, just simply add the HID on it!! here....

Hey can you do us all a favor? Can you post night time wall cuttoff pics as well as beam patters head on from about 30-40 feet facing the car as well as rear pics with the car in front of you and you about 20 feet behind it so we can view your spread patterns. I've never fooled with the GX lamp so I'm not sure if its halogen has a color band in its cuttoff. Well, we'll discover this once we see pics! On with the show!

The picture is fine, however, I was also asking for pics of the cuttoff on a white wall so we can see how sharp your cuttoff is as well as a pic from behind your car with the lights on so we can see how wide your spread is.

so:
two pics
1. Cuttoff on white wall
2. Shot of your truck from behind or some shot showing the beam on the ground for spread display.

Thanks!

Here's and example:
Hella E55 Mercedes Bi-Xenon
1.
Valeo ECE D2S (Porche Chyanne Euroversion)
2.
