Default Tail light mod and dash warning light

I am considering a tail light pattern change and for that, I will be altering the brake and regular light circuit back at the rear lenses. So that I don't have that glowing dash light indicating a bulb failure, I want to jumper the wires into thinking a bulb is still active and present. However, I don't want to be popping fuses so I don't think jumpering them straight would be safe.

Now it has been many-many years since I used a multi-meter to check for resistanse. When I check the 7443 bulb, it comes back as open and is not indicating resistance. ??? If you were to make a start at a resistor to install any suggestions?
