Default DIY HID conversion for LS43 foglights

Has anyone done this ? Can anyone give step by step info on which parts to remove if I want to install aftermarket HID conversion for the foglights ? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Stock bulb is 9006, so just buy an HID conversion kit , it's a plug and play set-up............remember to get the same K bulb to match you HID headlights.

Default how to access ?

Thanks for your reply, Lexkost. More questions though.
How do you access the foglights ? I don't remeber seeing any screws at the outside. Should I jack up the front of the car and access them from underneath, or would it require removal of the front bumper ?

Also, does anyone know the Kelvin rating that would be closest in color to the stock HID headlights ? Thanks for your help.

gewe21, I have never worked on a LS430 so I do not know how to remove them. As for the K the stock are about 4100k.....................If it was my car I would install some 4100k 9005 bulbs and not HIDs..........a 9005 is a high beam bulb, because it's in a fog housing it will not blind people driving toward you.Plus a good 9005 4100k will only cost less than $50 bucks where the HID conversion is about $500 bucks..........and when you come to California WE will have $450 bucks to party with.

Lex- would the high beam bulb burn a higher temp when run in the fog constantly? Would it melt the bulb holder or housing, etc etc. Sounds like a cool idea. I'm asking, because i wanna brighten up my fogs but keep the yellow!

By the way Gewe, you need a sig man, one of the nicest LS's needs to be avail at a glance, not AFTER reading some damn text

Use that night time pic with the lights reflecting off the wheels, I like that pic alot

yeah if you want the easy way, just get some 9006 super white bulbs (i suggest piaa extreme white or razo platinum white zero) and you are set

but if you want the real deal i still say go with hid fogs. i have 6000k headlights and also put in a 6000k hid kits in my yellow fogs. the fogs are just so much brighter than any other gs out there. from what i see, the problem is that the hid on the gs/ls, etc... they are so bright, so they kinda "cover up" the fogs. but now when i drive, people always see 4 hid easy. and since the fogs are so low, the lights are all on the ground, i don't really blind anyone

No HID's but when you got 600watts at 5000K it is better than a lot of HID's I have driven next to.
