Default Hid Kit (one bulb not working)

to those with an aftermarket HID kit in their vehicles, can you please advise if you need to replace the whole kit when one bulb is "dead" or can you just get a replacement bulb

my son's car has a 9006 lowbeam hid kit and one bulb won't turn on

thank you!

If you can isolate the problem to be the bultb, then you should just replace the bulb. You can just purchase one new bulb. Try eBay or the place where you originally purchased the HID kit.

yeah if you are sure it's just the bulb you can just get the replacement bulb. but i would suggest changing both coz' the color wouldn't match if you just change one

Swap bulbs and see if that one side still doesn't work. No light = bad ballast and/or ignitor (depending on ballast design). Double check the wiring too,

Default Thanks!

car is at the installer's shop right now

wiring, ballast and swapping of bulbs from one side to the other are being done to find out exactly what is "defective"

thanks for all your tips!
