Default HID's on the RX300

I have a 2001 RX300 and I am thinking of converting my non-HID OEM headlights for the OEM HID lights. Where do I start? Do I go the OEM HID route or aftermarket HID route? I don't know what a ballast is or what/if auto-levelling is available with OEM or non-OEM. Is it worth it or just use the money and save up for a new RX330? Any pointers on where to buy and who I should get to install 'em?

I have been driving a 2003 ES300 service loaner with the HID's since the RX300 is at the dealer for repairs to a driveshaft/transmission seal cuz it sprung a leak. I dd not realize how great the HID's are and now I want to upgrade the RX300's lights.

Here's a thread for you to read.

You might want to consider Sylvania Silverstars instead. Only $50 per pr and bright and white. I have them on my Jeep Liberty.

eyebike,

Thanks for the link. I currently have the Silverstars in my RX. They work great but I was curious on what's involved with having the real deal HID's on the RX.

John,

Thanks for the pictures. Man, those are bright. I tried searching for threads started by you but could not locate your DIY HID install. I will look again when I get home tonight. Thanks again.

You're probably blinding everyone down the road cuz those reflectors are not self leveling

your are right sir! But if u know me, u know i dont care But the advantages to these babies in dark roads simply out weigh on-coming traffic people's constant hi-beams. Im pondering HID brights and fogs too!

JohnsRX,

Where did you get your kit from? Is it a 9006 rebase it?
