That's incredible. Exciting news that LFA is not dying after this year. For racing homologation purposes, they will be producing some variant of LFA next year.

I think this will be racing in the WEC where Toyota's hybrid LMP1 TS030 participates, but in the GTE class.

Isn't that cute, the car think it is a human. It got it's own thread mill

On another note, that thing looks devious. It is pure EVIL.

That's just a scale windtunnel model. The real thing will look way better. According to lexus enthusiast, GAZOO racing denies they'll use the LFA next year for the N24, which is what some have been saying this is for. So either they're not telling the truth, or they will enter this in some other racing series.

Will be nice to see how a purpose built LFA racer will do in the 24-hour races.

Awesome! Amazing to see they are actively testing it, and it's not just an abandoned project.

Akira Iida has never won at Le Mans or been on the podium (and I'm not sure if he's ever even raced at Le Mans), so this definitely would qualify as a "next challenge" for him.

If Gazoo Racing has said they won't be at next year's Nurburgring race, then it's a very good chance we will see this menacing LFA at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, together with Toyota's hybrid LMP1 prototype!

The LFA was never going to die after this year . The LFA team has been keeping busy this whole time, LFA's chief engineer himself has said so .

Damn Toyota has really been kicking things up in general and especially Lexus. Could the spark in the new direction be credited to Toyoda Jr.?

Based on the history of the LFA and how much he had to do with pushing it through the accountants, I'm fairly certain it should be.

I'm glad someone else noticed the huge arm going through the roof / center of the car...

Of course. Thanks to him and some senior members of the Toyoda family, the company is back on track and the Toyoda family is in charge of running things, not some misguided bean counters or greedy accountants.

Some new info has surfaced from dailysportscar.com editor Graham Goodwin on the 'LFA GTE'; Nurb24 hours and certain VLN events looks to be what this car will be doing in 2013! https://twitter.com/dsceditor/status/278232070285840384
