I so want to see this car compete in the Le Mans endurance race

It sucks that it is collecting dust in a garage now.

It's not all to waste. Knowledge learned on that program was used for the Nurburging 24 hours Gazoo race LFAs, and I'm sure we'll see the knowledge learned pop up in future Lexus projects

That is awesome. Clearly, that is Lexus LFA 2 prototype. Just like they did with LFA 1 where they ran the prototype in racing before it went into production.
If you look closely, the car is actually longer than the LFA 1 as well.

In the pictures, the AD-X has a longer wheelbase, it has exhaust pipes on the sides as well.
BTW, I read from some people at lexusenthusiast that this new V10 revs up to 12,000 rpm.
The pr says all carbon frame body. The 'regular' LFA has aluminum front and rear subframes. I doubt it revs to 12k. The air restrictors used in the races choke the engine above 8k, thats why they were rev limited before. No reason to expect different this year since the regulators wont let these cars make much more than 500hp.

In previous years, LFA were restricted to 7500 rpm for the reason you mentioned. However, the last year, from sounds in the videos, the LFA seemed to be back up to 9500 rpm. I don't know how, but it clearly seemed to be revving much higher than 7500 rpm.

I actually saw this at the Tokyo Auto Salon Sunday…couldn't believe my eyes that it was there in the Gazoo Racing booth next to the standard race LFA. There were some differences but I was just in awe that it was there lol…..
Longer wheelbase of the Code X LFA and exhaust pipes are on the side
