Since so many people are getting all riled up, this is exactly what I was pointing towards when I mentioned the car was sold and was being repaired. Whatever that means in the grand scheme of things, I don't know. Going by what was being posted, the car was under process of repair already.
It was in this thread and was posted it was undergoing repairs several months ago:
This video is one I shot. The car belongs to my friend who plans on using it in his Exotic Car Rental business here in Houston, TX. He bought it wrecked and had it moved to the repair shop where it lies now waiting on replacement CF pieces from Toyota.
Also he did buy it for a bargain. It switched 2 dealer owners just in Houston. Stories of a rogue sales agent going for a joy ride are false.

Rear bumper has been repaired and the cost of repair and refinish of the rear bumper was 15k. No mechanical damage noted and airbags never deployed. I am not sure if the accident has been listed in Car fax I assume since it was *****d out in its condition to so many dealers it is but I am not sure.
Looking at the car, it appears the car was sandwiched between 2 cars. My guess is that it was hit from behind after hitting a car in front because the the front damage is so much more exaggerated than the rear.
A dealer by the name of Expo sold my friend the car. Expo bought it from the dealer in California. When Expo sold my friend the car the story was that the car was given by a Lexus dealer to a potential lease holder. A few weeks later it was in the California dealers hands. But I asked Expo guys about the rogue salesman and they said they believe the potential leaser crashed it and the Lexus dealer is doing their best to protect his privacy. But all this honestly is hear say.
What I can tell you for sure is that this car rammed some object could have been another car could have been anything. And subsequently was hit in the rear.
I will post more pics and video once some of the parts start rolling in from Toyota.

Read the whole thread and especially the MOST RECENT posts from "aryajet2"...
He mentions the repairs were not FULLY completed as he originally stated...
MY GOD!!!!!!!! how does one crash a car thats in that price range??? obviously doing something stupid or possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. thats a shame....
Im a Lexus parts guy....most of the replacement parts for the LFA aren't even made yet but for example the front bumper cover retails for around $11k and the hood retails for around $17k. Ouch! I dont care if the car was a proto, still hurts somebody's wallet. DAMN!
I saw an ad for the car on eBay and thinking the dealer was in Ontario California called them
The ad inferred they were willing to deal
And yes I ended up speaking with the owner, a nice Canadian
Here is my recollection of the conversation
He bought the car from a dealer in FL (I was not able to get info on how it went from Texas back to FL and how the front end was repaired)
He flew an expert there to get the car on a lift and confirm no underside damage
He brought it up to Canada, paid the import tax and put a $14,000 rear bumper on it
I mentioned the history of the car and he did say the hood had a mark on it but did not need to be replaced
He needs to get $365K for it based on his costs and mentioned another one for sale in Canada at $500K

Thanks for the update. The $365k price for a repaired LFA that will show up on the car's history is not worth it. Whoever is looking at getting an LFA would rather just pay the $380k+ for a clean title car. I doubt anybody buys it for that price...
Crazy
I agree this car has a none too positive history
I made that point to the guy
His reply was that the cars list in the $400s in Canada so
this was a relatively good deal for a car in Canada
Plus unlike the states there really aren't unsold new ones sitting in dealerships
He also likes exotics so having it around is not a problem
He mentioned that he has had lots of Ferraris and made a point of how much better the Ride quality in the LFA is

Well if it does sell in Canada or the US, as long as the potential buyers know that it has been in an accident and it would be harder to re-sell the car later. I do agree with the better ride quality of the LFA since I've been lucky to drive a few.
