Default Lexus LFA vs Nissan GT-R (poll inside)

I found this drag race done by MotorTrend thought you guys might enjoy it. It's very interesting and they break it down in a slow motion replay

It surprised me that motortrend pitted a pre-production LFA vs a GTR in a drag race instead of a road course!

when you only have a few hrs with the car, together with all the video shooting, etc... road course would be pretty impossible

really? Is that why they were at Nissan's proving grounds? You should read the article again. The site they were at had a road course. Even if they couldn't test it on the streets with non-legal tires, a closed course could have been had.

AWD vs RWD and AWD gets jump off the line. What is there to be surprised about? Guess I'm confused about the thread since the LFA was never intended to be a performance monster.

^ Agreed! Not surprised at all about the outcome. IMHO BOTH cars are AMAZING but...for 1/3 the cost throw me the keys to the GTR; damn I love that car.

I wonder what the weight of the GTR wheels are. I am sure they are light, but if there are lighter wheels out there to be had, a simply wheel swap could make up a little bit of this performance difference between these two cars. I want a GTR one day. period! lol

So true, it's not one or the other, if I can afford an LFA, I WILL have a GTR.

If I can afford an LFA (or other supercar), I'm going to stand there and penny pinched:

LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR? LFA or GTR?

hell, let's save 90k and get a pocket rocket civic with 10 nos that's cheaper

But the entire point is that comparing an LFA to a GTR is like comparing tangerines to oranges...very similar in all aspects but with a tremendous cost savings with the GTR.

However, comparing a civic with a ridiculous mod list to a GTR is IN FACT an apples to oranges regardless of how fast you make the civic. It will never handle or ride as nice and never turn heads like the GTR or LFA.

GTR is flat out awesome. As an aside, I like the Corvette Zo6 and ZR1 too but I like the styling of the GTR more.
