the ending is the truth to it all. way to pricey IMHO. at the end of the day its still a lexus. motor technology wise, seems like a copycat of the V10 off the M5. its a great car and performs superb but at that price range you can own pretty much any car from porsche, lamborghini, ferrari.... but i guess maybe reliability and cost efficient maintenance is what lexus has to offer? awesome performing car, but i think italian leather takes the win at the price range
Put a sock in it if you don't know what you are talking about. Fundamentally first of all, the BMW uses a 90 degree V10 while Lexus uses a 72 degree V10 and that is just where it begins. Go do some research and come back.

As for your price/performance school of thought, the GT-R, Viper ACR, Vette ZR-1 and Mitsu Evo **** all over your hypothesis. Useless argument. below 4 seconds, tens of thousands separates tenths of seconds, and in that price range, I'm pretty sure they buyers don't care.

The LFa's speed is comparable to the SLR, 599, DBS etc... and it is still cheaper than most of them.
I think u miss understood me, the LFA is a great machine Im not gonna take that away from it and yes, there are cars that are faster and cheaper, but people who cross shop the LFA have better choices out there, I know a few people who skipped the LFA for better cars in the same price range ( 599 GTO, LP670, amongst others ) which are simalarly priced, in my area at least, if the LFA was 100k cheaper it would have been a perfect competitor and would match up with the segment realy well, but because of its price point it is out matched by cars that are similarly priced, I think the biggest flaw it has is that it took so long to introduce the car to the market, its competitors have evolved into faster machines that out match it in every way

It might take the KZ1 around the track. It's hard to say becasue that laptime on top gear was done on a fairly damp track. Nevertheless, the KZ1R is a different car. It's lighter, faster, and has more downforce than the KZ1, so it'll definitely put down much faster lap times than the standard KZ1.

I still don't see why we're comparing these two cars. The LFA should be compared to Ferrari 599's, Astons, etc.

Ok, first of all relax....in terms of power and design....it seems both u failed to realize what I meant. So can u honestly tell me they are very much differerent.... Both high reving V10 lots of hp very little torque. 90 degree or 72.....they are very much similiar in power delivery and designed to rev very high. Hope this clears that up.....

Why do you assume the LFA engine is a copy cat off of the m5 engine? what facts lead you to this assumption? That is right, you have no facts, at least not yet.

Am I not speaking English? I just made it clear that both motors seems to perform very much alike ....both high revving V10s, very identical power delivery in both engines....maybe I was a bit harsh as far as saying copy cats but Jesus some of u folks are sour patches.... It was an opinion... Don't take it to the heart... Considering there isn't many High reving V10s out in the market now is where my assumption came from

all this is irrelevant by now as I'm sure the LFA is worth every single penny... Afterall what exotic car is made out of 70% carbon fibre

LOL, no. If you knew the basics about engines, you would know that a 90 degree V10 is just a V8 with two extra cylinders "slapped on". It will never be as balanced and refined as the 72 degree V10, and will never have the same potential. Hypothetically, if you were to start moding the two, the 72 degree V10 will have a higher RPM cap.

One of these engines is purpose designed, and the other one is just overclocked, designed as an after thought.

This would about sum it up.

This I can agree with.

Which one of these will come with a respectable warranty, and which one will leave you stranded and make you eat the bill?

At that price range, the particular market that this car is geared for...they already own the porsches, lamborghinis, ferraris, astons, etc.

It's not like "middle class millionaires" with just a couple of million lying around will buy this car. That's ridiculous.

Typically, people who purchase $200,000+ cars have, on average, $25 million in liquid assets (source = forbes.com)

It's not an "either or" scenario where they have to choose between the LFA or the Lamborghini. They already have the Lamborghini.

Nobody looking at the LFA is cross shopping for the GT-R. Somebody looking at the LFA could purchase 5 GT-Rs on a whim. Chances are if they are a car guy, they probably already have a GT-R or something comparable (Porsche 911, some sort of Ferrari, your guess is as good as mine).
