Hopefully in the same way they unveiled the Genesis Coupe. Minus the cheesy music.

Lexus will open up saying

"Before we get into the LF A let us address the tailpipes. They are real, and they look fantastic"

I think they should stick a horn on the bumper or hood, drive it next to the Honda display and say: "Our unicorn just took a crap on your unicorn." To which Honda will reply: "Yeah, well at least our unicorn doesn't need RWD or 10 cylinders!"

Or they could just cover it up, put it on a revolving display and have a couple hot girls unveil it. That seems to work too.

Ahhhhhhh... Lexus # 1 FAN strikes again. Because we all know you have a "direct contact with Lexus' Chief Engineer, Design Team, CEO, etc".

So what you're saying is that when it debuts later this month it will ABSOLUTELY not be the same design as shown on the Vert Concept right? Nevermind don't answer that... You'll just give me a long winded justification for whatever they end up looking like.
Question was simple... Answer should be too.

Carry on.

Oh by the way... That answer is "We'll just have to wait and see."

As opposed to you being Nissan's #1 fan??? You came in here talking about the GT-R yadda yadda and how long the LF-A took and yet the GT-R took LONGER to arrive.

I just told Gsteg and TRD to knock off the personal jabs. COMMENT ON THE CAR, not on the people.

TRD do not reply to TXStyle, reply to the car.

Actually.... sir... I'm not a # 1 fan of ANY particular vehicle maker. I do however "respect" many and not just one single brand/maker. I'd like to see this car come out and shatter as many records possible and garner the respect of the Supercar Kingdom. So now that you know what I truly think... carry on.

A few thoughts:

I was thinking about the speculated and rumored performance potential of the LF A. I will go out on a limb here with a bit of a bold prediction that the production car's HP could be around 600 HP instead of 550 HP. 550 would not be that dissapointing, but I think 600 could be possible.

The press release mentioned "revolutionary supercar". I wonder if the revolutionary part is just typical PR speak, or if this car is going to really surprise?

As encore888 mentioned, it could be a "concept" up until Oct. 21st, where they "reveal" the production model and it goes from concept to production almost instantaneously. Also consider that when debuting concepts, Lexus always gives names to the concepts. In this case they gave no concept name, but simply said "world premier of two-seat supercar".

The Lexus Europe Twitter page seems to confirm/imply it is the production model.

All in all, it looks like Lexus is teasing us and being secretive up until the very last second before the reveal.

With an ultra-high-performance supercar like the LF A, would they be able to powerslide safely indoors? Toyota might show off the LF A at the show possibly at an outdoor track. Indoors I think a great idea would be to rev the engine to redline (assuming proper ventilation and everything). I would say a Nurburgring video with a lap time would be almost a minimum requirement.

I think those educated guesses are interesting, but I'm wary of any manufacturer over-promising and under-delivering. Fortunately Lexus hasn't said much other than 'over 500 hp' but the LS 600h L makes me think that it will be over but not by too much (there is a chance of a surprise there though). Yet the chief engineer has been very coy and said quite little...

In addition, I'm hoping for a polished reveal ceremony but at the same time I'm not expecting the heavens to part, angels singing, etc. Oh and earlier I said the car will have its 'fair share of admirers' but actually I think it will have more than its fair share of detractors as well.

With regards to the IS-F and its exhaust tips, I think that was a manufactured 'controversy' where some were looking for anything, at all, to give them a reason to hate the car. Especially given that other manufacturers do the same thing and have no qualm from the enthusiast base. It reminds me of Cinderella, where the mean stepsisters surrounded her and tried to pick off pieces of her dress.

It's hard to change perceptions and this time around I suspect that the price will be the chief reason for some to dislike the car ('overpriced' will be the meme), but considering how each LFA will be produced at a loss, what with the carbon fiber, ceramic brakes, custom built details and all, for the truly fair-minded enthusiast hopefully they will be able to appreciate the car for the achievement that it shapes up to be.

Very good points, I agree! Certainly some people will find something to hate about the LF A, simply because what this car means and what it stands for.

For months rumors were consistently saying around 550 HP, but there have been some rumors of 600 HP. I remember hearing last year about rumors of the car having as much as 570-580 HP. Realistically I am expecting about 550 HP, and anything more than that will be a very welcome surprise.

Interesting you brought up the LS 600h L example, as that reminded me of the 2nd gen Tundra example. Before the official specs were released, a Toyota press release stated that the Tundra's 5.7L V8 was going to have 'over 300 HP'. That was a very coy and vague statement, and the 5.7L ended up having 381 HP .

Although the company is still calling it a concept, we know that the car shown in Tokyo will be 99% production ready.
