Nothing yet.
First and foremost, they need to make the CURRENT GS350 more performance oriented. It's too plush and nannied by VDIM. It should handle like the IS, but alas, the GS lacks the enthusiastic umphh.
Second, we need to see and feel the GS460 before we can assume the necessity of a GS-F. If the LS460 has 380 hp, the GS460 can be tuned to near 400hp.
Will a 5.0L V8 400+hp GS-F be necessary, sharing the same engine as the IS-F? Most likely not. Or will the GS-F actually share the same engine as the LF-A? Most likely not.

If they are to build a GS-F at all to compete, they need to have a V10 in it, may be a differently tuned version of the V10 of the LF-A ? . . .

Suprisingly MT sales for BMW and Audi have dropped in the recent years...it's not a large % of sales that most people think.

A V-10 GS would be nice. Hopefully Lexus takes this new performance division to another level. GS-F hopefully you will come...

THANK GOD! Finally.
This is BEST news coming from LEXUS in long time for me. This is what will bring me back & many long time GS enthusiats that decided to leave for the germans back to LEXUS. Took friggin long enough for them to wake up & see that that competition has caught up to them. Major props to them for putting the GS-F back on even during economic slow down. Now they need the formula they used on the IS-F -> GS-F.
Put me on the list for the GS-F!!!!
I hope I can preorder that baby.

A manual transmission in a GS sized car is redundant and makes no sense whatsoever. The IS-F transmission would be perfect for such a car, I fail to understand why a few people hound for a MT in these cars. It isn't a Miata, Elise or any other weekend corner carver for crying out loud.
I'd like to see the LF-A's V10 in a GS-F. It will do fine with 500-550, cause the GS has always been a good deal lighter than the other cars in this class, I only hope it will continue that way next generation.
