[Other] Car slowly shut off
Hey guys, I have a completely stock 1993 sc300 that I just recently bought for $800. And now is starting to run like an $800 car.
Anyways, the positive battery cable had been loose for a while, so sometimes I would have to reconnect it when turning the car on. Yesterday, I was going over a pretty bumpy road and when I got home noticed that the cable was disconnected. So I was driving without it on. Now when I start the car, it idles a little lower than usual and then eventually dies in me. I hooked it up to my other cars battery to try and charge it. And it seemed to work. I only charged it for 5 min though. So my question is, does the battery just need recharging or is there something else going on? Thanks. -Austin

Hello LexyAzHell, we apologize as we are not in a position to address this concern. We recommend you consult with your local Lexus Dealer as the technicians will be in the best position to address your inquiry. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you
Battery voltage supply to the ECU is critical on these cars. It has to be at around >13.8v if your alternator is charging right. Otherwise that idle will be fluctuating up and down as voltage going to that ECU is going down below 12v.
Fully charge the battery and tighten well your battery terminals making sure there are no corrosion and your alternator is charging well the battery.
