Audio System Cutting Out

Audio System Cutting Out
Has anyone experienced there cd player shorting out when they increase the level of the bass?What can this be from is my amp going out or do i just have a short somewhere..

If you have the bass really cranked up, the laser could be skipping. I was really surprised not to find in our system a feature even the sub-$100 portable CD players have: SHOCK PROTECTION (usually 8 or 10 seconds of music stored in advance). On the other hand, no amount of it can overcome a constant pounding bass hard enough, if that's the case.
Your best bet is to try to duplicate your problem on a dealer's car to find out if you have a problem or just need to lower the bass. It still doesn't sound right to me that it skips.

If i cut the bass level over 1 it just shorts out i have to keep it in the negative if i want to cut it up.oh yeah its a 02 if that helps....

Yes I added two 10s and a amp however my amp blew out about 1and a half ago so I have been running only the stock system. I really think the problem is in the head unit or factory amp..
