hey guys,
well i just got my 99 GS4 with nav within 2wks now and i am starting to mod it.
So far i did hids top and bottom.
anyway i am plannin to add some bass to the ****ty factory system.
I had 2 12in RF PUNCH HEs in my LS400 and they sure did hit hard with the RF PUNCH 501s amp.
i want to put in a 12in sub in the rear deck *freeair* and cant decide whhich brand to go with.
I am lookin for hard bass. I listen to rap ,RnB and reggae and need that thump.
I was lookin at some ID subs but i dont know which will sound good in freeair setup.
ALso i was lookin at the Infinity Kappa perfect 12vq
which is rated 400w rms and can be used in freeair.
What is the best freeair sub i can get?
just a side note i am planning on doin a full system next summer which consists of 6.5 beyma studio speakers in the doors ,pioneer dsp, 2 12in EV club speakers in the back deck and 2 15in L7s. I did this same setup in my boss caprice and it screems.
Infinity Perfects sound fairly good and accurate in sealed boxes. However they are not in the same categotry with ID's in output, reliability and quality especially in IB setups. I would stress ther lack of reliability on Infinitys since i have seen so many of them skoking coils at rated power that it is not even funny. Of course some of them are ok but you would be taking a lot of risk. If you want something temporary, I would suggest their lowest line called "ID". They have v3 versions now that have more excursion, punch and SQ then the V2 IDQ's (next line up). They are cheaper also.
