The Kicker is the sub amplifier, right? It has a control line that needs to be switched by the head unit. Is that already connected--or is it tied to the battery line? If it's done right, the amp should be shut down when the head unit is turned off.

What model head unit is driving it? Are you driving the speaker or line inputs?

yea kicker is the amp.

im not really good with audio yet but heres what i know.

amp is connected to the 12v batt and grounding. n theres a wire "REM" i think connected somewhere. also there are wires on the other side of the amp that connect with one of the rear speakers which connects somewhere else as well not sure where else..

anyways so i just got back from looking in the rear and i found that the original owner put tweeters with the rear speakers. and yea.. i think they are blown..

"What model head unit is driving it? Are you driving the speaker or line inputs?" i THINK its on line input iono. n im using the OEM sc400 headunit.

Ok. Time to try a simple experiment. While the system is playing, disconnect the remote turn on lead. The amp should shut down normally. If it does so, then you have to see if the line switches off when you turn off the system, or does it stay at 12v. Put a voltmeter on it and see if it changes state correctly.

If, however the amp goes crazy when the remote line is disconnected, as you described, then we have to look elsewhere. See what you find out.
