programming car phone on 93 sc400
who has the book to program the factory car phone? I just can no longer remember how do program it, the numbers that i had stored are so old they where pre area code days so i am trying to update it but I can no longer find the book, please help..
There is a guy on this board that goes by "Strongsail". I think he may know the answer to your question, so try sending him a PM. You really should do yourself a favor, however, and throw the handset in the trash and buy a cell phone from this decade. In fact, quite a few providers will GIVE you a phone that would be much better than the old cell phone, and it'll fit in your pocket.
thanks for the info, but being in the car and having hands free is a lot easier than holding my phone that fits in my pocket. I just hit button 1 send and it dialsall without having to hold a phone. As for being analog who cares I have sprint for my other cells and it sucks just as bad, static or dropped calls you decide. thanks for the info I will be sure to PM him.
I like the whole concept of the phone package in the car and I was wondering the same thing. Is there an updated phone that can be installed in the arm rest? The service provider was Verizon (at least thats the message that I get when I mess around with it) would any company be able to turn it on?
I think verizon offers analog, just go to cingular wireless if you have it in your area, I hae no idea what you are looking to do but they do offer prepaid service, so you can try it in your car to see if you like it before you get a contract.
FYI
good luck finding someone who will offer analog subscription service. That is about 4.5 technologies ago.
We have been through Digital TDMA, DUAL BAND TDMA, GAIT and now GSM - which is available in three and four band service. You will catch hel to find a good rate plan (if ANY) for an analog handset, and if you do, will pay DEARLY for airtime. There are several options in regards to handsfree car kits - for example, BMW offers Motorola integrated V60 kits, which is stylish enough to wear with any suit or casual attire (stainless steel). There are a number of accessories that places like Cingular Wireless that carries handsfree kits to work with your phone, and look very professional. Do yourself a favor and check that out.
