here are some pics of my headunit...i had to change the factory radio+cd changer..that cd changer was too problematic

3) this is a motorized retractible radio-the screen can be tilted/adjusted once folded out to your liking..and folds away like those alpine 7" monitors!

4) that plastic piece underneath the radio is just a temporary fill in-until the other unit(harddrive) gets here...scheduled arrrival was july 2003,but was pushed back...

i'm waiting for the alpine hardrive head unit to come out(single din/removable face)it will go right underneath retractable radio....i love this radio!!

yea i had to go aftermarket when my bass levels got to the point where my cd changer loved to skip more than play.

Question Alpine Install

Same prob with the stock CD changer - How did you get that single din Alpine to fit? It's the same headunit that I want, but I was told there isn't an adapter kit for it. HOOK ME UP!!

Yes, alot of us are in the same position. I'm also upgrading to Alpine.
Since there's no Kit for the SC, please explain the installation process of how you got the unit in there. Thanks!

well i didn't do the installation myself,but the radio looks real easy to put in once you get the old one out of the mount it sits in. it screws right into the existing mount but once complete-you will have a space about the size of a single din leftover. a piece of plastic was cut and formed(temporarily) to cover that space.it matches the existing plastics only in color(different materials used).if this is to be a single din install,i suggest something much closer to the factory plastics to be used..hope this helps all of those thinking about taking that plunge into the aftermarket..good luck!
