I am trying to troubleshoot the guidance system in my Nav unit. I select a destination and proceed to be guided by the voice. She dutifully announces I will get instructions and goes quiet. I don't hear from her until I reach my destination. No turn information announced during guidance period. To test further, I purposefully took a wrong turn expecting to be told how to get back to the route or a modification of the route (such as "make a U turn").

The unit now has Rev 16 Map DVD which made no difference (non returnable $185 purchase).

I suspect a bad GPS sensor or bad pre-amplifier.

Where is the GPS sensor in the 2008 GS350? Dashboard?
