Default navigation upgrade

well after countless hours working with RMMGS4, we've finally got something that is presentable. I can't say that its "done" because what project ever is. There's always a little something that can been added or tweaked. Anyways before I get on to the pics, the system goals were.
1. Pioneer Naviation
2. DVD playback
3. Aux input for digital camera or game console
4. keep it looking like stock

Also keep an eye out for a thread from RMMGS4.

We did our cars at the same time and the system design are similar. While mine is simple, his is a bit more complex.

Default dvd playback

the buttons on the left are from my nak headunit. the top on toggles between video inputs. I'm still trying to find uses for the other buttons. Once I do, I'll probably relabel them.

Default aux input

i don't smoke so the ashtray is removed in favor of an auxilary set of AV inputs. Also behind the speaker grille is the navigation guidance speaker/IR. I needed to use that because I didn't go with a Pioneer monitor. The monitor is from accele. 7" widescreen and very very bright.

Default headunit in stock cd changer location

the stock changer was ditched in favor of a 12 disc put in the trunk. The glove box now holds the brains to my Pioneer DVH-P7000R DVD head unit.

Default faceplate relocation

with the headunit in the glovebox, I need to put the faceplace somewhere else. homelink was removed (planning on moving it to the sunvisor...) Thanks to Gary Cho for doing the solder work to make an extension cable for the faceplate.

Default how it was done....

well a lot of wood cutting, fitting, sanding, painting, sanding and more sanding. Had to put a small fan on the monitor to keep it cool.

Very nice installation! I wanted to put the Valentine 1 concealed display unit in the same place where you put the radio faceplate but I use the homelink so I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do yet.

Jawnthen, looks great! You have certainly made a lot of progress since the last time I saw the car.
