Default how does calibration really work?

can someone explain how this works?

I have a '98 gs 300 with nav........it works great however i'm not sure how to best use calibration.

e.g. in my development where I live the nav always shows my vehicle correctly on the street i'm traveling except when I actually make the right turn onto my street. then the arrow seems to drift off my street. so what i tried was when making the right onto my street I stopped the car and "calibrated" putting the little arrow thing on my street and pointing me in the right direction.

bottom line is that didn't really work.

it's strange how the NAV always knows where I am accept when I get to my street.

any thoughts?

also, what's the best way to mark my "HOME"? I've done it all ways....when I use setup "home" by address it thinks my home is on the "right" instead of on the left.

also, does anyone else notice that the outside temp display seems to always be 2-4 degrees warmer than the actual outside temp?

thanks in advance for any feedback.
