Default Volume on navigation

Is it possible to increse the volume above the "7" setting for the voice command associatied with the nav system? With the stereo at moderate levels you can't hear the voice prompts? I called the 1 800 number for Lexus customer support and they did not think so. It is just so soft, I would think they could kick all to a higher level?

Does anyone else have this problem?

What? I'm sorry, I can't hear you.

Maybe you've played your stereo so loud you're deaf!

AFAIK the nav (atleast on my GS430) only speaks out of the left door speaker. I wish they could make it so it came out of all the front speakers. I can't hear it for **** unless i turn off the cd/radio.

Same on the GX470. It speaks out of the Left speaker plus it does not mute the radio as I think it should. Considering that supposedly it has the ADAPTIVE volume control why the hell would it not mute the radio.... its rather odd...

only problem with the left door speaker is that I'm a big guy, my leg drastically muffles the sound coming out of that speaker the way it is.

The navigation voice comes out of the front left speaker by the navigation ECU intercepting the speaker wires from the amplifier. The navigation voice could be played out of it's own speaker by taking the ECU audio output wires directly to a speaker or even rewired to a LLC and then into the preamp side of the stereo. The navigation voice volume level would then be adjustable with your stereo volume. The later would be a big job, but could be done.

No, 7 in the max, there is no sub-setting to change. f you are using NAV, usually you are trying to pay attention to the directions, keep the radio down a bit.
