Anybody know where I can get a good sounding pair of 4" midranges (not coaxials, there's a million of those) for a reasonable price??? These seem to pretty hard to find on the web or ebay. I need to replace the Bostons that I put in my Supra (my second car) in 1990. They've dry-rotted and are toast.
The tweeters are something to behold as well - they are petrified like stone - when I push on the silk, it doesn't cave in like usual, it doesn't even move, I've never seen anything like it. It's from sitting in a horizontal, upward position facing the sun. Weird.

They have the whole range of speakers. I would suggest LPG tweeters (ignore the price, they sound pretty damn good) and Peerless or Vifa midrange.
Check out the Accuton tweeter $2500 each

Retro,
When they start advertising a material that's "10 times stiffer" than "conventional" material, that worries me. MBQ used this in their site also and they loved advertising this in a similar manner. I'm wondering about the damping and the decay times. Still, the esotar t330d is done damping by 0.5ms and the c12, though it's a different tweeter, is still going way past 0.9ms. And it was, when available, some 2300 dollars cheaper!
I would like to see the curves that the accuton diamond tweeter will produce....
