I plug my iPhone into my Lexus sub connection. I launch Waze or Google Maps for navigation. If I have my iPhone music playing via Bluetooth, I have no problem hearing navigation instructions. But, if I switch to satellite radio I no longer hear the navigation instructions.
I have paired my iPhone successfully with my 2015 Lexus RX350 so that's not the issue.
If anyone knows how best to resolve the issue do I can hear nav instructions no matter what is plsying thru my car speakers, I would be most grateful.
(By the way, in my opinion, Lexus has the most complicated and convoluted audio setup and system I have ever used. I own three Lexus and the systems are equally bad in all three models. That said, not one of the systems is the same as the other. The newer the car, the more complicated the system. I consider myself moderately knowledge of iPhones and car audio tech)

That's the logical way for the car to handle Bluetooth. It would be horribly annoying if the car played every sound from the phone while listening to XM, FM, etc. I'm not sure about waze but here is a remedy for Google Maps. Toggle the "play as Bluetooth call" option on and whenever Miss Google is going to speak the car will recognize it as a phone call and mute the audio source momentarily.

 

Hmmm Logic? My wife keeps trying to teach me the real meaning of the word!
