I have an MML in my 02' 430, worked great until ios 8,..... now junk. I had a cheaper vais in my wifes 06' GS,.. worked pretty good, but recently replaced it with latest Vais unit to support bluetooth streaming,... wife says its much easier to deal with. Bottom line, the technology is pretty good, but the longevity ( limited software support over time ) will cost you .... having said that... Im staying with them.....

that's my review
the sl3b is much simpler and straight forward. i have done plenty of sl2i-up and sl3i (which was the phased out wired version), it's very solid and works well

one of the main reasons i want to get the unit is for that fact that i want to not have to remove my phone from my pocket all the time i would like the audio for my ipod and iphone to be bluetooth steamed and the ivic doesn't allow this i can only get this with the SL3B unit.
Now reading above i am worried that when a new Iphone OS comes out that perhaps that won't work.
if you have the SL3B could you take a video and show me how the unit works imean id like to see how things show up on the screen of the navi unit and all will it allow me to see things on the screen ?
or will i just be able to operate the foward revers skip and that stuff with the sl3b ?

you have 07 es so that's gen5 nav
on vaistech sl3b page you can see screen shots of what it's like. you can see song names and album info, and you can use controls to go to next track

after doing some more searching i think the ivic might be the way i am going to go.
but the one thing i need to do is fine a holder or phone mount for my phone.
i don't like just having a suction cup on the window especially because in the winter it falls off when it gets cold and pain in the rear to get back up when window is cold.
you don't happen to have any ideas for that ?
do you.

i don't have any suggestion. since everything is controlled on screen (at least for things i use), i don't need to "show" the phone so it's just plugged in and stay in the cup holder

but forgot i wouldn't need to for that.
one thing am i able to scrol and use the touch screen for the ipod iphone and the apps when the car is out of park ? or do i have to bring it to a stop and park like i do now just ot be able to schroll through phone lists and see radio song data ?
we mostly play from the itune library on our phone. when the car is moving, we have no problem scrolling through all the selections, changing between albums / singers / genre / songs etc... category. so literally the phone is just sitting there and we do all the selections on screen. and it also displays all the song info
as far as i remember, only if i want to play videos from the phone (and the only time you need to touch your phone unless you have video playlist), then you are prompted with a screen to punch in code (2486) which will then enable the video playback when the car is moving. (not 100% but i think this is how it works)

so i am back to the finale drawing board now that i have the cash to buy either one of the 3 eithers i am between the MML the SL3B or the Ivic.
i really like the Ivic but the only advantig i see to that is so i don't have to manualy input phone numbers to the phone book and that i woulnd't have to use the Navigation DVD updates i would just use the maps on my phone.
but the down side to that is that i then be using a hell of a lot of data and i would end up saving money by updated the maps on my car navi alot less than the extra data charges would cost me each month.
so then i am down to the MLL unit and the SL3B
i understand with the MLL the audio quality would be probably better then the BT audio quality.
and i could also just forget having my phone for music i could just hook up my 1 tb external HD to the unit and have all my music on that.
now the advantage to the SL3B is that i don't have to take the phone out of my pocket every time i get in the car if its only for a 5 or 10 minutes drive but the sound quality is going to be lesser than hardwired however would my sound quality on BT be better than the sound quality i use now on my 3.5 mm aux connection ?
the main thing is if i am using the BT for my music does this mean that whyll i have the phone connected to the SL3B that it would not be connected to the Hands free car phone feature ?
or can i have my phone connected to two BT devices at one time ?

Vais is working well, but they cant work in 7th generation, and cant controll by joystick from 6th generation, it is big fall i think. Vais working only in old cars, and i dont know why.
if you say to me what you need i`ll try to recomended you some another things, maybe

Please note that SL3B does not support USB sticks. All music comes from the phone. The USB port is for charging only.
