yesterday, my CD changer is broken, I opened it up, took a look, the teeth of the bigger gear that open the CD changer's door are all broken by the metal chain's teeth.

So the chain is running, but not the gear.

I don't want to go further until i hear some professional opinion.

is it fixable if i take it to dealer? they probably change more than a cd changer itself. or they just ask me to replace the changer.

anyone has a cd changer floating somewhere so I can purchase from?

you could just take it to tha dealership and have them fix it for you. or give you a new one

Hi, this morning I took my LS400-1993 to this store in Atlanta, GA to fix my CD changer which door do not open and err message in the radio lcd display.Price 250 removed, fixed and installed.In the afternoon, I brought my 1995 LS 400 to have them fix my radio lcd display which have some missing numbers and letters and the light is out too.Price 250 including removal and reinstall.Actually , all works are great as expected ,anyway they have 60 days warrantee.They said they can fix everything, temp lcd display panel, instrument cluster lights, radio, cd....
You can check and compare w/ other stores .If you want to try, call them and can have price reduced if you remove and install them by yourself. I see you have a 96 ES300, so the changer is in the trunk correct? I can get the changer for $200 shipped. This will be from a salvaged car.
