I just finished my box last night. I still need to make a cover for the subs and cover the box with some carpet, but it's mostly done. I'm going to upgrade the subs here soon, because these old kickers are not cutting it for me. I'm looking at going with the rockford fosgate (Prime series)shallow mounts. Anybody have experience with them? They have pretty good reviews, and I've read they hit pretty hard for a shallow mount.
Here are some pics of the way it sits now. I'm not going for alot of bass, but just a nice clean sound.
Install looks good. I haven't read any reviews on RFs Prime line but do know that they are their "budget" alternative to the regular RF subs, speakers and amps. I would look elsewhere if it were me.
I've been looking at multiple subs. My issue is the shallow mounts. I have limited space for the subs. As far as shallow mounts go, the RF's seem to be the best bang for buck subs ($65 each). I'm working on a very limited budget, so keep that in mind too. I saw a couple others, but they were more than double that.
I'm still looking into the Rockford Fosgates, but I've got my eyes set on some different subs. My box is only .5cubic feet for each side. And I'm limited on the mounting depth as well. RF has the punch P3S which is a shallow mount at only 3.5 inches deep. Also it from what I've read works great in a small box like mine. The cheapest I've found these is at about $130 each with free shipping. A bit more than I wanted to spend, but it's the only option I've seen that will work good with my box.
